The Professional Firefighters of Lake County (PFFG) is the labor organization that represents the firefighters who protect life and property in Lake County. We are the Lake County affiliate of The Florida Professional Firefighters and the International Association of Fire Fighters.
Our members provide comprehensive fire protection, emergency medical first responder service, hazardous materials response services, water rescue, and technical rescue services, and serve as our city’s emergency preparedness coordinating agency. We enforce state fire codes, conduct fire investigations, and provide public education programs. Through contracts with the state, our members staff both hazardous materials response services (HAZMAT) and urban search and rescue services (USAR).
The mission of the Professional Firefighters of Lake County IAFF Local 3990 is to be a vehicle for positive change within the Lake County Fire Department among its members and the community we serve. Our union works to promote fire prevention education, build political power for fire fighters to advocate for public safety, promote the most advanced and safest practices of our profession, and participate in charitable events in the community in which we serve.
Our purpose is to unite brothers and sisters in a shared commitment to protect and serve our community. Through collaboration and dedication, we strive to enhance the safety, resilience, and well-being of our neighborhoods. By engaging with residents, promoting fire prevention education, and actively supporting community initiatives, we aim to build a strong, inclusive, and vibrant community that thrives together in the face of challenges.
